Amanda Brugel

Pointe Claire in Montreal's West Island is a small, sleepy town. People who don't understand they mistakenly believe they are on the West Island extends westward from Montreal. The teacher recommended that she audition for an annual school production. She was able to audition and be cast in the role of Anne of Green Gables. The Fine Arts Talent Scholarship led her to York University, where she studied Theatre and received an undergraduate degree in Fine Arts in 2000. Over the last 20 years, Brugel's work has been seen on both the large and small screen. Her work gained most fame when she was offered the role as Rita on the award-winning TV show The Handmaid's Tale. Brugel was the sole Canadian actress in Season 1 and only appeared on occasion.
